  • The morning after pill is available without prescription as a walk-in service at Reign Pharmacy in Portlaoise. Our new online order service allows convenient in-store collection opposite Midlands Regional Hospital.

    For ages 17-35, it's free under the HSE’s Free Contraception Scheme—or for medical card holders.

  • It's a pill taken after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. Available directly from our pharmacy (over 17, meeting criteria)—no doctor's prescription needed.

  • Our trained pharmacists handle requests professionally and confidentially. We'll ask simple questions to confirm suitability. If unsuitable, we'll guide you to support options.

    Reasons it may not be suitable:

    • Too much time passed for effectiveness.

    • Interactions with other medicines.

    • Existing medical conditions.

    • Irregular last period.

    Effective up to 120 hours post-unprotected sex—but most effective ASAP.
